2003 Apollonio Salice Salentino $12.99

This is the second time I have tried these wines in a controlled tasting setting. Wine is made from 80% Negroamaro and 20% Black Malvasia.

Brick red in color, candied sugar on the nose with a light floral and earth note. Wine has hreat structure with good spices on the palate. Tannins are there but not over powering. Finish was medium bodied. but lingered on like an old man's fart.

Great wine!!!

Tasted 5/09

  1. A truly disgusting end to your description, but I have to agree that Apollonio's wines are some of my favorite. Juicy and fresh like a... plum.

  2. I had the chance to taste with Marcelo. Sorry about the end note. I tend to write a bit strange sometimes.
