1998 Cerbainoa Brunello di Montalcino $164.99

You will read below about a wine my friend pulled out because I love this producer and my response to that.

The 1998 Brunello di Montalcino from Cerbainoa is what a textbook BDM should be. With a color of a nice brick that was just fired, the nose of pretty complex notes of tobacco, spices and a hint of old mother earth. On the palate it is juicy with lots of black fruit and a tracer of oak. There are even little hints of dried flowers with great acidity. The finish was pretty big even though it was decanted for a few hours. Just a great Sangiovese and after sitting in Slavonian oak for 3 years and 1 year in the bottle, I would expect nothing else but the best from this wine.
