Tasted the 2005 Privada from Norton of Argentina with some amazing thoughts. The blend of this red wine is 40% Malbec, 30% Merlot, and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine sees 12 months in French oak and 10 months in the bottle.
The 2005 Privada is a big boy! Clear with a deep red center, with some pretty nice notes of rich red and black fruit. Light hints of cassis and cedar. Big tannins, high acidity and full bodied. On the finish it was big and loud, and lasted for a good 15 seconds.
This is a great Bordeaux styled wine made from a great Argentina producer. I believe that Parker gave this 90 points.
