1999 Aldo Conterno Barolo "Cicala" $120

The 1999 Cicala Barolo from Conterno is what a Barolo should be. I really enjoy Barolo's made from the Cicala vineyard. With its deep red to purple color, a nose of licorice, dried flowers, and a palate that has layers of oak and earth. Gives you a final punch of love right at the end like she is begging you not to finish any time soon.

Being that it is 100% Nebbiolo (which stands out in the nose) and spends 28 months in Slavonian oak and another year in the bottle, its no wounder Parker gave it 93 points. I think now is the perfect time to start drinking them. With almost a case left, I think I can spread this out for the next few years.
